LET US WALK YOU THROUGH OUR JOURNEY WITH ABBIE & FINN FOR THEIR WEDDING AT REMENHAM COURT, HENLEY ON THAMES

Before the wedding..

Abbie & Finn were introduced to us via Abbie’s Mum Cheryl who really took a liking to our style and vibe. Abbie and Finn were keen to make sure every part of their wedding day was fully covered so they went for our largest assorted package with 4 crew members. Getting married at the picturesque Remenham Court in Henley-on-Thames we were very excited to head over to join them for a recce.

Remenham Court has so many areas for great wedding photography and wedding videography, especially as it is right on the river. Abbie and Finn showed us around with their dog Bago who was very excited too. It was here that Abbie and Finn asked if they could have their confetti shot in a red Alfa Romeo. Of course we said yes. It was just as well that we had met up on the recce as this gave us the opportunity to work out the logistics of this shot and how it would fit into their day with ease.

The morning of..

It was the height of summer for Abbie and Finn’s wedding, luckily just out of the overwhelming heatwave a couple of weeks earlier. It was a pleasantly warm morning at their wedding venue which was having a few treks made on our arrival. Our wedding drone pilot got straight to work and went airborne, capturing some stunning wedding drone shots of the venue and surrounding area. These shots are always so important as they allow for the wedding film to have some establishing shots.

Abbie had a beaming smile as she got ready in the bridal suite. Her and her bridesmaids were very chilled sipping wine and getting their wedding makeup on. They had many visits throughout the morning from the mother of the bride, Abbie’s nephews and of course the father of the bride who was very emotional when seeing his daughter for the first time.

Meanwhile a mere fifty metres away from where Abbie was getting ready, Finn was staying in a cottage in the grounds. Finn enjoyed a breakfast on the patio with his groomsmen before making their way indoors to get into their wedding suits. Once ready the groom and groomsmen made their way to the gardens where one of our photographers had planned with the groomsmen to lift Finn up on his count. Finn was shocked on the lift but found the moment hysterical. Of course we captured it all on camera!

The ceremony..

Being a beautiful summer day meant that Abbie and Finn had the luxury of having an outdoor wedding under the sun. The wedding ceremony was on the garden lawn with plenty of wedding flowers attached to every chair. Finn waited patiently as his bride was slowly driven down the driveway of their wedding venue to the end of the aisle.

Abbie and Finn had hired a wonderful wedding registrar who took the time to get to know them and their story. This was shown in their ceremony as it was very personal and told their wedding guests the full story. As we were capturing a full wedding video including the vows we had to make sure that audio was captured perfectly. We attached a microphone to the wedding registrar as well as one attached to the groom. We have two mics which means we always have a backup and any audio from the bride can be captured with no problem as they’re standing so close.

Abbie and Finn had decided to include a tying of the knot into their ceremony. A tradition which involved multiple coloured ribbons being weaved around their arms. Once they pulled the ribbons back it tied a perfect knot in between them representing their binding of a newly married couple. With a large cheer they enjoyed their first kiss and made their way back to down the aisle.

Confetti & Group Photography..

It was time for the confetti shots. We were fully prepared for this thanks to the recce. Abbie and Finn wanted their confetti shot to be taken in their stunning bright red Alfa Romeo. To capture this moment to its full potential we had multiple cameras running. We attached a Go-Pro to the back of the wedding car capturing all of the confetti falling in, we had a crew member on a gimbal following the car from the front and a wedding drone pilot capturing the moment from the air. This was such a fun shot to capture and every wedding guest thoroughly enjoyed it.

As a tip, we ask you to have a list of group shots to a number totalling to 10 or less. The reason being it can be very time consuming, and usually would end up reducing our time in the wedding couples shoot, which is really important for the set of photography. We're experienced in what looks great, and will happily organise the group shots to what looks best, and of-course more than happy to take guidance on something you've seen before.

The couple's shoot & wedding reception..

For the couples shoot Abbie and Finn drove out of their confetti shot and straight into their couples shoot. We parked the wedding car in the field opposite the wedding venue and had it as the perfect backdrop to our wedding photos and wedding video. This was a perfect moment for the two of them to share an intimate moment and take in the beautiful atmosphere of their wedding day.

Right next to the field was the River Thames. This spot was stunning and menat we could get some amazing shots of Abbie and Finn overlooking the water and the various boats going up and down the river. Once finished they jumped back in their wedding car and made there way back to their wedding reception.

Whilst we were shooting with our wedding couple the other members of our team were having a great time with their wedding guests! Getting involved and capturing all of the natural moments. This is why it's important to have a second photographer or videographer, as they will be there to  capture all of these moments that you might have missed.

The wedding breakfast & speeches..

The speeches and wedding breakfast was set under a beautiful veranda. It was a perfect place to watch the sun come down as everyone enjoyed their meal and the speeches.

The great thing of having two wedding videographers and wedding photographers on the day means that whilst on your couples shoot, the other two members of the team can get everything set up ready for the speeches. This will include setting up microphones, cameras on tripod as well as capturing plenty of footage of your wedding breakfast set up before anyone has come in. This is the same for the wedding photographer who will capture every tiny detail.

There were a lot of tears during the wedding speeches. The father of the bride found it hard to keep himself together as he spoke about the moment he walked his daughter down the aisle. Finn had written his speech to perfection, captivating his audience and telling the beautiful story of how they came together. The phrase he used to describe his new life with Abbie was “a charmed life”.

The evening antics, cake cutting and first dance..

Cutting the wedding cake was a real laugh! Abbie and Finn cut out a huge slice from the cake with a massive cheer from their wedding guests. Of course it is tradition to taste the cake after the cut. Finn picked up the slab of cake ready for Abbie to take a bite, it was a great moment that everyone laughed and cheered for.

The first dance was definitely one to remember as it was out on the lawn in front of the venue. With it being golden hour with the sun setting it was the most magical backdrop. As we were outside we were able to get the wedding drone up in the air and capture the first dance in an angle that we have never captured before. The view was stunning seeing the dance floor, venue and river together. Abbie and Finn enjoyed this moment together as they had choreographed their wedding dance to perfection. Once finished they ushered everyone on to the dance floor and the party and had truly begun.
