LET US WALK YOU THROUGH OUR JOURNEY WITH GRACE & BRETT FOR THEIR WEDDING AT SILCHESTER FARM

Before the wedding..

We first met Grace & Brett when the found us and reached out to tell their story. We began our journey over Zoom, like most did during lockdown. From that initial call, they immediately knew they wanted to work with us, and that feeling was mutual. Fun, enthusiastic and like-minded, we knew filming and photographing their wedding day was going to be an absolute blast.

From here, once the paperwork and intricacies were completed, we always want to make sure we've met our couples in person so we've got to know them, and also make sure we've seen the wedding venue if we haven't been there before. We first met them at the pub in central London for a proper get to know eachother session over a few pints, and by the end of this we'd all secured the confidence that working together was going to be an absolute blast!

After this, we all decided to meet up at Silchester Farm wedding venue to walk through the day, discuss any plans they might be doing especially, and also really importantly, meet the venue staff so we know who we're going to be working with on the day as a team.

Taking the extra time to meet up enabled us to firstly decide that Grace & Brett wanted drone footage, which could have then not been included, but also discover that the venue didn't have a plug in option for the PA system. A working PA system is crucial for recording our wedding speeches, which we then include within our wedding highlights film, and the longer films of course if the couple chooses to have that option. If we hadn't have gone for the recce at Silchester Farm, the wedding day could have been frantic trying to work out plan-b, but instead we were well prepared and captured everything perfectly.

Of-course, once we'd finished the recce we stayed longer to have a few pints, talk through the day in more detail and properly break the ice, so when the day come around, we were all friends. Most importantly what comes from this is the comfort that gave Grace & Brett in front of the camera and us, so the real them was showed throughout the biggest day of their lives.

The morning of..

By the the time Grace & Brett's wedding day come around, we were all really familiar with one another and all genuinely so excited to celebrate the Champion's and capture some amazing wedding photography and video. We always like to arrive early, so we can unload our kit, secure a base for ourselves and then be ready in this case for the arrival of both the groom and bridal party. They got ready in an order where 90% of make-up and hair was completed first at a local hotel, and then completed the final touches at Silchester Farm where we could capture those parts. We always recommend to all of our couples we arrive once everything is nearly complete, as from our experience, not many people want themselves photographed before you're all glammed' up!

So Brett and his groomsmen arrive first, followed shortly by the bridal party. It was logistically planned with us so we could make sure they didn't see one another, but we also get our shots. We took the groomsmen for a groomsmen photoshoot and video shoot before the ceremony, so it could save time later on in the day for them to spend with their guests instead. We then joined Grace and the bridal party before and after getting in to their dresses, and also managed to capture the guests arriving, including some lovely moments of the father of the groom waiting to see the daughter he was handing away that day.

Mean-while, Grace & Brett purchased drone coverage, meaning our wedding drone pilot was on hand capturing lovely wedding drone shots to feature within our film.

The ceremony..

The guests have arrived, Brett his groomsmen are greeting them, and Grace is ready. We've captured all of the lovely photos by now of her and her party, so its time to get ready for the ceremony. We already have a plan in place for the highlights film for a two camera set-up for the ceremony in terms of video and our wedding photographer is going to float around to get all the lovely angles. However, just before this we got some extra time to capture the guests enjoying some arrival moments.

Being an experienced wedding video and photography team, we know where to be at the right time, so we even managed to capture the moments and the groomsmen and bridesmaids lined up to walk down the isle together, before running to be in position for the actual isle shots, including capturing a few of Brett's nervous smiles with his guests and us.

For all of our wedding films, we use a subtle microphone so we can have lovely audio from both the registrar and bride and groom. This is so within our films, we can tell your story properly with a beautiful narrative driven story.

Our job when the wedding ceremony is taking place is to be as discrete as possible, but mobile enough to capture lots of wonderful angles. The outdoor wedding ceremony was perfect for this, we had so much freedom to move around which you can see in the wedding photos. The big selling point with us is our person-ability as people and quality of camera work. This is proven in the images you can see, so much so that the registrar got us involved and actually asked us if we wanted another kiss, which Brett and Grace knowing the vibe we'd created, went with a huge high five and kiss, ensuring we were able to capture the real, fun and lovable characters they are.

Right at the end, their friend has written a surprise song which was incredible amusing for everyone as you can see from the huge smiles from the wedding party.

Confetti & Group Photography..

Right after the ceremony is a key time to be organised and ready for the confetti and the group shots. The confetti shot takes a little bit of time to organise, so we usually ask some help from either your toastmaster, or on this occasion the groomsmen. We like to ensure everyone has some confetti in their hands and everyone is on a cohesive line, so the confetti photos and video looks amazing! At Grace & Brett's wedding, we even had time to get some bonus shots while we we organised the confetti line.

As a tip, we ask you to have a list of group shots to a number totalling to 10 or less. The reason being it can be very time consuming, and usually would end up then reducing our time in the wedding couples shoot, which is really important for the film and photography. We're experienced in what looks great, and will happily organise the group shots to what looks best, and of-course more than happy to take guidance on something you've seen before.

The couple's shoot & wedding reception..

It's time for the wedding couples photoshoot and here is the prime opportunity for the killer shots of the day, with maximum fun and premium wedding photography, tied up with video. We went for a walk at the stunning grounds of Silchester Farm.

The key part of working with us is the element of fun, and nothing too forced. We work with scenes rather than posed shots, so that way we can capture the real elements of what our couples have to offer. We started off with a walk, where we asked Grace and Brett to simply walk and talk with one another to settle in and warm up. From there we unleashed the fun, actually practising the first dance ahead of the evening, which we could then edit into the wedding film. As you can see, it was smiles all around.

In this particular wedding photography and video package, there were two crew members, so we worked together throughout, but there was enough time after to capture the guests mingling as part of the reception. On days where timings after different, we might require a member or two more to ensure you get the full coverage and nothing is missed while we're off shooting!

The wedding breakfast & speeches..

Just before everyone gets into the room, we like asking our couples to come and have a look at the evening set-up so we can capture their reactions to all the details that have been decorated. Silchester Farm was stunning, so warm and a beautiful venue for some evening antics.  As we'd been pre-prepared we knew ahead at this time was also a great time as a crew to get set with our camera and work-around audio due to the PA system being inaccessible.

Then once we're all ready, the guests enter and Grace & Brett we're introduced. We're on hand to capture all the entrance photography and video, which then went into the speeches after some food. At the point catering begins, we tend to have a rest and have some food too, as no one wants to be filmed or photographed while eating.

The speeches were amazing, and gave us really nice options for the narrative approach we take to our wedding videography. On hand our photographer also captured all of the lovely moments that were introduced via the speeches, as well as the guests reactions. We tend to have two cameras set-up for the filming so we can guarantee a longer edit later down the line if Grace & Brett fancy seeing it! Not only this, but it allows our videographer to work efficiently knowing one angle is secured, so has more freedom to capture the intracasies as well as the guests and their laughs, smiles and cries as the speeches continue.

The evening antics, cake cutting and first dance..

Before the evening fully began, we had allotted some time in the day to capture Grace & her bridesmaids together for a bridesmaid photoshoot. We took them to the incredible rustic looking barn and did what we do best, have some fun! We guided the team to act out some scenes, rather than poses to help capture natural wedding photos, rather than forced actions. Those infectious real smiles! After this, we floated around until the cake cutting was ready to happen.

At this wedding the cake was by the side wall, so we asked if they didn't mind us moving it to the dance floor. This way, we can get all the guests involved in the background. We set-up similarly to the first dance, using two lights to backlight the bride and groom and another on camera flash to bounce off the roof for some fill. We really love the cinematic visuals it creates!

The first dance we'd already seen remember.. but the guests hadn't, so having them surround the couple gives us a great opportunity to see those reactions as it all unfolds. The couple did the full rehearsed dance and the energy from everyone was fantastic, which led to a busy dance floor! Just what we like!!

Guests at this point do unwind, and we do offer extra hours for that real content to be highlighted for you. We stayed later with Grace & Brett and the fun the guest were having is something they can now look back on forever with amusement and awe.

The finale..

If time allows, we always like to go that extra-mile! We suggested to Grace & Brett to get some sparklers, so we could create some wedding sparkler photos. We got some gets involved, which ended up being all guests and probably the largest wedding sparkler line on record with around 100 guests getting involved, its such a lovely way to get everyone enjoying something together on the day!

Not only this, but we had a quick visit to the Silchester Farm pigs!
