LET US WALK YOU THROUGH OUR JOURNEY WITH LIBBY & JOHN FOR THEIR WEDDING AT THE GRAND JUNCTION

Before the wedding..

We first met Libby when she approached us during the pandemic via Hitched. We organised a Zoom call where we could firstly hear about her plans and to learn more about hers and John’s relationship up to this point. From that initial call, we determined the correct wedding package in terms of their wedding photography and video for what they required, and how we can help them throughout the entire process from start to finish.

We organised a recce of their venue The Grand Junction in Paddington. Before we went into the venue we decided we’d meet at the pub first and have a drink. We met Libby with big hugs and a warm vibe immediately, and from there we just knew how much we’d adore filming their big day. We always like to organise a recce so the couple have had a chance to walk through how their day will look with us. This is great for any nerve settling, getting to know one another, and also make sure we've discussed anything they may want in particular that we can give advice on.

Taking the extra time to meet up enabled us to fully understand one another when it come to desired outcomes and build a great relationship heading into the wedding day filming. The venue is absolutely stunning, and run by a vicar who is known to be a little strict, so it was also great for us to have met him before the day when a million other things are going on.

The morning of..

We arrive early at all of our weddings. This is so we can get set-up in good time, and meet the other parties involved in the day before even taking out cameras out. The second we met Libby and her team at the Chiltern Firehouse, it was such a loving and warm reception and we settled in really quickly. Libby was very calm and being looked after very well by her bridal party. Our second team were with John at a local pub where him and his groomsmen got ready, enjoyed beers with the family and all round good vibes were had.

We utilised this energy to the max, capturing shots of the girls in their gowns having a party, once they were dressed drinking champagne and of-course, and all of the lovely shots as Libby is getting the final stages into her dress. The boys had a leisurely stroll through some edgy looking areas, which helped the London wedding photography have a strong London feel, they look fantastic!

We were running out of time at the Chiltern Firehouse and didn’t have long to capture the important bridal shots, and the room had got quite frantic. We have a strategy when this happens and it’s to ask the room to leave and get ready for their transport downstairs. This allows us and the bride to capture what we all need, whilst calming the bride down. Brydn & Libby took some deep breath’s and got back in the calm zone before continuing to capture what are her gorgeous bridal photos before leaving.

By the time Libby was leaving, the boys were at the church, greeting the guests and waiting a little longer than expected for Libby’s arrival. As you can see from the photos, there weren’t too many nerves from John’s side, but they did start to creep in a little.

The ceremony..

For this wedding, Libby & John purchased our larger package, which is a four camera set up for our wedding film, producing both highlights and the longer film. The venue was enormous, but also tricky to move, so to be safe we had two static cameras ensuring the front angles, whilst we had our two wedding videographers roaming down the sides being nice and discrete. Our photographers also split, one towards the back to capture the scene and the important shots from the back from down the aisle, whilst our other towards the front capturing those finer details. All moments were captured beautifully throughout the entire ceremony, and we put it down to our experience and also the pre-planning to ensure everything was in place.

For all of our wedding videos, we use a subtle microphone so we can have lovely audio. This is so within our films, we can tell your story properly with a beautiful narrative driven wedding story.

The big selling point with us is being personable wedding photographers and videographers, and with Libby & John, they made sure we were included in everything like we’d known them for years. We love to mingle and get involved where possible, making your photography and video at your wedding day very relaxed and approachable.

Confetti & Group Photography..

Right after the ceremony is a key time to be organised and ready for the confetti and the group shots. The confetti shot takes a little bit of time to organise, so we usually ask some help from either your toastmaster, or on this occasion the groomsmen. We like to ensure everyone has some confetti in their hands and everyone is on a cohesive line, so the confetti photography and video looks amazing, and didn’t it just!!

As a tip, we ask you to have a list of group shots to a number totalling to 10 or less. The reason being it can be very time consuming, and usually would end up then reducing our time in the wedding couples shoot, which is really important for the film and photography. We're experienced in what looks great, and will happily organise the group shots to what looks best, and of-course more than happy to take guidance on something you've seen before.

The couple's shoot & wedding reception..

It's time for the wedding couples photoshoot and here is the prime opportunity for the killer shots of the day. We had a plan that we organised on the recce to follow, which was heading down to take some wedding photos and video in Little Venice.

The key part of working with us is the element of fun, and nothing too forced. We work with scenes rather than posed shots, so that way we can capture the real elements of what our couples have to offer, and we captured some special moments for Libby & John by the canal, silhouetted under bridges and some real intimacy to show how strong their love really is.

In this particular wedding photography and video package, there were four crew members, and we worked together throughout to capture the full coverage, so nothing was missed while we're off shooting with Libby & John, because we had a photographer and videographer still at the venue. This meant in the final film Libby & John got to re-live things they hadn’t seen or experienced.

The wedding breakfast & speeches..

Just before everyone gets into the room, we like to capture some details while it’s pristine so Libby & John can remember how the venue looked. We asked them to have a nice moment taking in all of the room and one another whilst we captured some content. It’s also a great chance for the team to get set up for the speeches, which is another multi camera set up and audio recorded section in our wedding video packages.

We're then on hand to capture all the entrance photography and video, which then went into the speeches after some food. At the point catering begins, we tend to have a rest and have some food too, as no one wants to be filmed or photographed while eating.

The wedding speeches were so detailed and heartfelt, and gave us really nice options for the narrative approach we take to our wedding film. On hand our photographers also captured all of the lovely moments that were introduced via the speeches, as well as the guests reactions. Libby did an emotion speech herself which was a strong part of our narrative wedding film we created.

We tend to have two cameras set-up for the filming so we can guarantee a longer edit later down the line if Libby & John fancy seeing it! Not only this, but it allows our videographer to work efficiently knowing one angle is secured, so has more freedom to capture the intricacies as well as the guests and their laughs, smiles and cries as the speeches continue. Not only this but with our videographer being free to float around, we captured and filmed the surprise piano and singing performance from Libby’s parents.

The evening antics, cake cutting and first dance..

Well then, the first dance lived up to expectations of fun, energy and passion. The party going nature was right up our street and was amazing from start to finish. We captured a moment that on the day left us laughing with joy when John fed Libby some chocolate, which Libby celebrated like the World Cup winning goal. Check out the photos to see.
