HERE'S WHAT THEY SAID ABOUT US

The whole experience with unveil weddings was a sheer pleasure from beginning to end. The team were so attentive and interested in how we wanted our special day to be, taking time to ask us questions, visit the venue more than once and liaise with the other wedding suppliers. They were open to our suggestions about arranging photographs, but also had loads of good creative ideas.

On the day itself, Ian and Chris put us completely at our ease, and really helped to settle some of those pre-wedding nerves! We so enjoyed having some special couple moments together, as well as posed photo with family and friends. The posed and candid shots which were delivered to us are absolutely amazing and we are really thrilled with the result.

LET US WALK YOU THROUGH OUR JOURNEY WITH SEEMA & JOHN'S FOR THEIR WEDDING AT THE IN & OUT CLUB

Before the wedding..

Outside of Unveil Weddings we work in corporate events and corporate videography and photography. This is where we met the wonderful Seema! During our time shooting with Seema we created a really great bond and she was sure that she wanted us to be part of her wedding day. This would be our first ever military wedding as John had served for his country. Knowing this, there were a few wedding traditions that we needed to be aware of. To find out more we did a wedding venue recce.

Seema & John only wanted Photography from their day but having a large headcount it was the obvious choice to have two wedding photographers. This way we could be in two places at once. On the recce Seema showed us around the In & Out Club a venue exclusive for military members and for wedding receptions. The wedding venue had so much history and so many perfect places to capture wedding shots. One in particular being a gorgeous balcony overlooking the terrace, but more of that later…

The morning of..

Going into the wedding we had a solid schedule, what else would you expect from a military wedding. There was no chance of any changes being made to the schedule and the day was going to run like clockwork. So of course we were with Seema and John bang on time in their suite.

Both of them decided to get ready together, steering away from wedding traditions. This helped us massively as we were able to have one of us capture our couple in situ, getting shots of the bridal make up, wedding hair and of course the wedding dress and military uniform. Whilst the other photographer could focus solely on the little details like the wedding rings, wedding flowers, wedding shoes and many more. In such a short space of time our two wedding photographers had captured so much detail and really told the story of the morning.

The ceremony..

Seema and John’s ceremony wasn’t actually on site but was taking place at Marylebone Town Hall in central london. This grand old building was the most amazing backdrop for our photography as it has huge columns on either side of the entrance which is a photographer's dream. Once inside Seema and John were taken into separate rooms to chat with the registrar. In this time our two photographers snapped the wedding guests eagerly awaiting their  arrival.

Having conducted a recce of the wedding venue before, our photographers had already agreed on their positioning for the wedding ceremony. Being a wide room allowed plenty of space for a photographer either side of Seema and John both focusing on the person facing them. This meant that every emotion could be captured with ease.

Once Seema & John walked down the aisle to their wedding quartet the ceremony started with lovely readings from their closest family. Moments before the first kiss it was clear that Seema in particular was getting quite emotional. With one of our photographers on a zoom lens we were able to capture the signs of tears forming, it was a lovely moment and so wonderful to see how happy Seema and John were in this moment.

Confetti & Group Photography..

Being a military wedding we didn’t only capture a confetti shot, but we also captured The Guard of Honour - A military wedding tradition. Once Seema & John were married and had left the ceremony room, we had all groomsmen get into position outside the front of the wedding venue with their swords at the ready. The best man called the orders as Seema and John walked underneath the swords. It was a very special moment and you can see the pure joy on the couples faces.

Once wrapped with The Guard of Honour it was time for the confetti shot! Wow! There was so much! We organised all of the wedding guests down the steps from the front door and once everyone was in position, we gave the thumbs up to Seema and John. The tunnel erupted with colour and our wedding photographers starting snapping. One focussing on wider angles whilst there other got tighter shots of the couples reactions.

It was time to go back to the In and Out Club and what better than to take a traditional red London bus through the busy streets! With one photographer on each bus we snapped away as the wedding guests enjoyed their trip through Central London. When at the venue we started the group shots.

As a tip, we ask you to have a list of group shots to a number totalling to 10 or less. The reason being it can be very time consuming, and usually would end up reducing our time in the wedding couples shoot, which is really important for the set of photography. We're experienced in what looks great, and will happily organise the group shots to what looks best, and of-course more than happy to take guidance on something you've seen before. In this case we used the red bussed as the backdrop as the front of them read Seema and John.

The couple's shoot & wedding reception..

With a few moments to spare before the ceremony and running on military time we were able to get a few couples shots done before we even went on our main couples shoot. Behind Marylebone Town hall was a quaint cobbled street which allowed for some really stunning shots. As well as that we had Seema and John pose in between the pillars at the front of the wedding venue. Thanks to everything being so efficient we were able to get to our locations and have a bit of time to make sure all of our photos were perfect for our wedding couple.

After the ceremony and back at the In and Out club we headed into St James’ Square which was directly opposite the wedding venue. Seema had made sure to tell us on the recce that one of the first shots with her and John had been taken in the square, so would like a shot captured. We always make sure to take our couples ideas into account and we made sure this was the first shot we captured on the couples shoot. Seema and John shared a really intimate moment in the park which was in the height of summer and surrounded by multiple pedestrians. They didn’t care at all though as they took this moment for themselves.

The wedding breakfast & speeches..

Arriving back at the In and Out Club, the wedding couple joined their wedding party and enjoyed drinks and canapes on the terrace. Everyone was taking a moment to relax. So we took the opportunity to get involved and capture lots of mingling shots.

Having two photographers during the speeches is always handy as it allows one to focus solely on the people speaking whilst the other stays vigilant looking for all of those small reactions that could be missed. Seema and John’s speeches were both very emotional as it was clear that both of them struggled to keep the tears back at points.

With a few final toasts from the father of the bride and other special guests the guests were ready to enjoy their food. At the point when catering begins, we tend to have a rest and have some food too, as no one wants to be filmed or photographed while eating.

The evening antics, cake cutting and first dance..

With Seema & John opting out of having a first dance. The main focus was on the wedding cake… This wasn’t any wedding cake though. This cake was made entirely of cheese! How the brie held its shape in that heat, for that period of time, we don’t know! What we do know though is Seema and John weren’t set on cutting the cake with a standard knife. John took his military sword and with both of them holding it, they sliced through! It was a fun moment enjoyed by all.

Once cut, the cheese was cut into smaller pieces and placed in the bar alongside crackers, chutney and port. The wedding guest thoroughly enjoyed the rest of their evening chatting away into the night.

The finale..

Before changing out their dress and uniform, we suggested one final shot to Seema & John which involved them posing on a balcony overlooking their terrace. It was a shot we had been planning since the wedding recce. We were so grateful that Seema and John were up for capturing it. Ahead of them arriving we had shifted a few heavy planters on the balcony to give us plenty of space for the shot. We then took Seema and John through a series of poses, we were extremely happy with the final shots as it frames them perfectly amongst their venue.

We are always keen to look for new wedding photography ideas and like to leave you with something that is unique to your day. We believe we achieved this with the wonderful Seema & John.
